100 BUSINESS WISDOM FROM THE GREATS – 43 of 100
100 BUSINESS WISDOM FROM THE GREATS THAT MAY CHANGE YOUR BUSINESS FOR GOOD – 43 of 100 Do not act as if thou were going to live for ten thousand years Marcus Aurelius
I love the philosophy of Marcus Aurelius and it would expand your horizon to study his work; always deep, always profound. Today I want to talk to you about TIME. The most precious of all resources available to us is time because it is finite; it is also interesting that we have the same daily allocation of 24hours regardless of your status. As another year rolls by, would you take stock and reflect how well you have used your time this year? I have taught my clients and delegates numerous methods to maximize their time but the most effective way to do so is certainly not in time management; it is more mental management. I addressed this in my book ‘Goldmine of Your Mind – Your Fast Track to Abundance’ FOCUS is one of the most important aspects of managing your business, career, relationship and the way to develop focus is to get rid of distractions.
When you have a big goal to accomplish, the way to get maximum focus effortlessly is to sell the project to yourself first before starting anything. Make a list of 20 reasons why it is true that the project is worthwhile, important and achievable. Do this for 10 days; then start the project. It is simple but that’s the only reason why most people don’t succeed because they are looking for a complicated system. I have seen my client who is into e-commerce cross the one million pounds mark this year because of this simple method. So many others have used it to accomplish their projects promptly without even trying to focus. When you have sold the project to yourself, your focus will flow naturally and you don’t have to force anything. Henry Ford said ‘Obstacles are those little things you encounter whenever you take your eyes off the big goal’ Needless to say, he was one of the richest men of his era.
